Cold enough for frost late tonight and early tomorrow
Despite abundant sunshine, temperatures are likely to hold in the 50s this afternoon, then drop through the 40s Friday evening. Frost is expected in most areas of Central and South Alabama before sunrise Saturday, and a few locations could have a light freeze for the first time this season. Tender vegetation should be covered up or brought indoors to avoid damage from the cold air.
It’ll be sunny both days this weekend as a warming trend begins. We expect to approach the 70-degree mark on Sunday afternoon.
