Some Montgomery residents wake up to find water in their street, yards
While some of us saw rain falling from the sky Monday morning, some folks in Montgomery saw water bubbling up from underground.
That’s how the day started for people living on Courtland Drive, a couple of blocks from Fairview Avenue.
Residents found out that they had no water in their homes because it was in the street and in their yards.
Lillie Gibbs called Action 8 News to see if we could get the problem fixed.
“My neighbors called me and told me there was water coming up in my yard and everything and bubbling up in the street in doing so I got to the front door and everything and it is bubbling up it was bubbling up down by the truck and all that was bubbling up and the street has cracked,” Gibbs said.
It appears a broken water main was the problem. Work has been going on for about a year to improve the streets in that area.
While Action 8 News was on the scene, a crew from Montgomery Water Works arrived to make repairs.
