Millbrook police make burglary arrest
Millbrook police say they’ve arrested a man on a charge of third-degree burglary.
Millbrook Police Chief P.K. Johnson said that officers were called to a home in the 2700 block of Englenook Road on Saturday, February 8, to a possible burglary in progress.
Officers were told that a person had been spotted on a surveillance camera, entering the backyard of the home, having jumped the fence, and was going through a shed.
Johnson said that officers found 42-year-old Christopher Freeman of Elmore in the backyard with a television set. Freeman was arrested and is being held on a $15,000 bond.
“As technology continues to progress, as well as citizen’s ability to have access to and acquire this type of surveillance equipment, the more difficult becomes for people to successfully commit these types of property crimes, which is great for businesses, citizens and law enforcement alike,” Chief Johnson said.
“The only people not benefitting are those who are committing these crimes, to whom I’d say this, People work hard to have their property and are willing to take the necessary steps to protect their property. Our officers stand at the ready to apprehend,
arrest and prosecute those who continue to roll the dice in committing these crimes.”
