The Central Alabama Community Foundation has awarded nearly $120,000 in grants to several local groups.

These Arts & Community Building Grants went to local organizations making a significant impact through arts, culture and community initiatives. The grants were presented today at Hope Inspired Ministries.

Here is a list of grant recipients:

2025 CULTURAL & COMMUNITY ENHANCEMENT GRANT CYCLE
Central Alabama Community Foundation ($87,005.00)

Arts Grants ($50,005.00)

$20,000.00 to the Alabama Shakespeare Festival to fund participation of four Montgomery Public Schools high schools in the Fall Festival of Shakespeare, where ASF teaching artists will work with students for two months at their schools to stage a Shakespeare play and complete ASF Master Classes, culminating with performances at ASF for the public and their classmates

$6,420.00 to The Children’s Center of Montgomery, Inc. to support the costs of the Center’s art program for its adult clients, which will focus on exposing participants to healthy foods through creating food art during 48 weekly sessions

$5,000.00 to The Cloverdale Playhouse to provide scholarships to K-12 grade students participating in the Playhouse Workshop Series and to support instructor costs

$13,000.00 to King’s Canvas to support the costs of implementing an entrepreneurship program for local artists by providing skills training materials, instructor stipends, and art supplies

$5,585.00 to That’s My Child to support the costs of Art by TMC Summer Camp, which provides three hours of week-day art instruction for two months and serves students in north Montgomery neighborhoods

Community Building Grants ($37,000.00)

$10,000.00 to Communities of Transformation to support the costs for 20 participants in Awaken, COT’s 12-week personal leadership class for persons experiencing poverty and seeking a more stable future

$12,000.00 to Montgomery Christian School to support the costs of four sessions of Parent University for MCS parents, students, and siblings to learn healthy and productive habits in the home and encourage stronger parent/child relationships

$15,000.00 to New Beginnings Educational Center to support the costs of the Center’s tutoring and mentoring after-school program that focuses on neighboring communities such as Paterson Court and Victor Tulane Gardens

CACF Technical Assistance Grants ($4,915.00)

$2,415.00 to Alabama Shakespeare Festival to purchase licensed copies of Microsoft Office Suite for staff members as a result of Microsoft Office ending its donation program for nonprofits in April 2025

$2,500.00 to the Capri Theatre to support the costs of purchasing a public address system to improve the quality of meetings and events needing microphone and projection sound

Field of Interest Grants ($12,800.00)

CACF Bucks Weil Cultural Arts Fund Grant ($6,500.00)

$6,500.00 to Alabama Dance Theatre to support the costs of 930 Montgomery Public Schools students attending Snow White and Mistletoe dance performances at the Davis Theatre

ECCF Clara Lull Robison Beautification Grant ($3,800.00)

$3,800.00 to The Kelly Fitzpatrick Memorial Gallery to support the costs of the Green Space Project to beautify with greenery and flowers the 900-square-foot area adjacent to the gallery that provides visitors with a scenic view of the Bibb Graves Bridge and Coosa River

ECCF Margaret & Auston Bridges Fund for Historical Preservation Grant ($2,500.00)

$1,500.00 to The Learning Tree to support the costs of cleaning and repair of the concrete and brick and mortar exterior of its Tallassee Residential School building in preparation for additional restoration activities

$1,000.00 to Main Street Wetumpka to purchase usage rights of historic photos and printed signs to support the costs of creating signage in downtown Wetumpka to display side-by-side photos of key downtown areas that will compare how the sites appeared over 80 years ago with today’s view

Autauga Area Community Foundation ($3,000.00)
Arts Grants ($3,000.00)

$3,000.00 to the Alabama Shakespeare Festival to provide tickets for 300 Autauga County students to attend SchoolFest performances that will include classroom study guides and interaction with the cast and crew after the performance

Elmore County Community Foundation ($12,000.00)
Arts Grants ($6,000.00)

$3,000.00 to the Alabama Shakespeare Festival to provide tickets for 300 Elmore County students to attend SchoolFest performances that will include classroom study guides and interaction with the cast and crew after the performance

$3,000.00 to The Kelly Fitzpatrick Memorial Gallery to support the costs of the Gallery’s four-week summer art camp serving students ages six to fifteen years on Tuesdays through Fridays and with an open house on Saturdays to display students’ art

Community Building Grants ($6,000.00)

$3,000.00 to Elmore County Family Resource Center to purchase hygiene products, toiletries, clothing, and nonperishable foods for the Care Pantry that serves Elmore County residents in need

$3,000.00 to Elmore County Family Resource Center to support the costs of the Smart and Secure Children program, which will include seven weekly group sessions led by Hispanic parent leaders and will serve four groups of 10 Hispanic parents
