Montgomery’s only Krispy Kreme is temporarily closed.
Details are limited, but officials with the doughnut chain tell Action 8 News that they made the decision to close the Atlanta Highway location following an “equipment malfunction and subsequent ingredient overflow until the issues are addressed and the shop is cleaned to ensure the safety of our team members.”
The Alabama Department of Public Health issued the following statement to Action 8:
The Alabama Department of Public Health is aware of the conditions at Krispy Kreme (Montgomery) and the State Health Officer is issuing emergency orders to cease all operations until repairs are made. The facility may not reopen until repairs and an inspection are complete.
Krispy Kreme did not provide a date for its reopening.
