Hampstead Community Celebrates 4th Annual Crawfish Boil
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) — With warmer temperatures and longer days, residents of the Hampstead community gathered for the 4th annual Hampstead Crawfish Boil on Saturday at the Lido Green.
Pounds of steaming hot crawfish, corn and potatoes were poured onto long tables, becoming the centerpiece of the event. Friends and neighbors filled their plates — and stomachs — with spicy crawfish while enjoying time together.
Children and dogs frolicked nearby as live music from the T.U.B. Band provided the perfect backdrop for the festivities.
“We started this event as a community event to cultivate relationships, for neighbors to get to know each other,” said Kim Traff, a sales agent with Hampstead. “As it’s grown and others have wanted to come, we decided, let’s open it to the public. We want to show off our amenity offerings, we have several new lots about to open up, some really cool amenities we’re going to be announcing, and the Montessori school is about to open up. It’s at capacity, and we’re taking a wait list.”
Hampstead’s next community event, the Food Truck Takeover, is scheduled for Sunday, May 4.
