Lowndes Co. students raising money to attend national conference

A group of Lowndes County students is raising money to go help represent the state of Alabama at the Future Business Leaders of America’s national conference in California.

Twenty-four students from Lowndes Co. Career Technical Center — are eligible to attend the national conference after top four finishes at the state conference.

Waka Lcfbla0521 Pkg2They all have a chance to represent Alabama — at the Future Business Leaders of America National Conference in Anaheim, California.

It’ll cost $1500 dollars per student to attend.

The group recently went before the Lowndes County Commission — to ask for help to pay for the trip.

“We’re coming from a rural area. So, we’re trying not to put that burden on those parents,” said advisor Bridget Davis.

“So this an opportunity for them to explore the world and see the world to let them know that it’s more than just us in this world. And you can go explore that world also.”
