Fall Begins But Summer Heat Lingers!
Fall is officially underway but the summer heat isn’t going away just yet. We’re facing a few more days of 90+ degree heat this week. Fortunately, it’s short lived as a cold front moves into the state later this week. Not only will it break the heat but it will help generate some much needed rainfall.
In the meantime, high pressure will continue to help maintain this mostly sunny and mainly dry weather pattern we’re in right now. Temps will manage to climb into the lower to mid 90s for highs through Wednesday. An isolated shower is possible but don’t count on it.
A cold front will make a run at the state Thursday into early Friday. Looks like this frontal system will be our best chance see some measurable rainfall across the area. A line of showers and t-storms will likely move across the region. A few strong storms can’t be ruled out. The main threat would be damaging wind gusts. Rainfall potential will range between an inch to inch and a half.
We’re on the backside of the frontal system Friday. A new surge of drier air will spill into the area and set us up for some really nice weather conditions over the upcoming weekend. Abundant sunshine returns and we’re expecting highs temps in the mid 80s and lows in the upper 50s to lower 60s.
