ACTION 8 UPDATE: Montgomery police release name of homicide victim

ACTION 8 UPDATE: Montgomery police have released the name of a homicide victim. Police say 40-year-old Rasheen Smith was found dead on Wednesday, November 25.

Montgomery police Lt. Tina McGriff told Action 8 News that officers were called to the 2900 block of Steeplechase Lane to perform a welfare check. That location is near the intersection of Eastern Boulevard and Vaughn Road.

McGriff said officers found a man with fatal injuries from a gunshot wound. She told Action 8 News that the death is being considered a homicide.
