Road project to start on U.S. Highway 331 in Crenshaw County

CRENSHAW COUNTY, Ala. (WAKA) – State road crews are scheduled to start a road project on U.S. Highway 331 in Crenshaw County.

The Alabama Department of Transportation says a resurfacing project on U.S. 331 in Highland Home will start Monday, July 27, weather permitting.

The project will stretch from the Montgomery County line south to Ronalds Road.

The project includes resurfacing, traffic striping and placing a high-density mineral bond on the paved shoulder. A high-density mineral bond is a pavement preservation treatment used to protect and extend the life of the roadway.

You can expect lane closures and reduced speed limits throughout the project. ALDOT urges drivers to plan accordingly and remain cautious around people and equipment in the work zone.

The approximately $1 million project is expected to be completed by fall.
