When a family member goes missing it can be a feeling of helplessness no one ever wants to go through.
More than 150 law enforcement officials from around the state gathered in Montgomery for the second annual Missing Persons Seminar.
The seminar is the brainchild of Montgomery County District Attorney Daryl Bailey and has the support of the state Attorney General’s office.
It offers two big opportunities – The first, for law enforcement to learn the proper way to investigate a missing person’s case.
That could range from new DNA techniques or where to find proper data bases to search for missing people.
It’s also a chance for family members of those who are missing, to meet with law enforcement. They will bring with them new DNA samples and their police files to hopefully, get a fresh look at finding their loved ones.
District Attorney Daryl Bailey says that with new technology, his office and law enforcement throughout the state are solving more and more cold cases.  Even though the results may not end in finding a missing person alive, it can offer that all important closure.
