Improvements for a well in Troy could change the water capacity throughout the city.

The well-located on Braswell Street has not been taken out of service and inspected for over 20 years. City officials say they are saving money by using the resources they have for the project. Repairs are a little over $300,000 versus drilling a new well for a million dollars.
“By upgrading and making sure that we take care of our existing well this is hopefully going to keep us from ever having to go back or at least in the near future going back and drilling a whole new well,” says Mike Davis of the City of Troy Utilities Department.
People in the area won’t be affected by the repairs. The project is set to begin by the beginning of April.
