Victoryland could soon be open for good in Macon County.
Owner Milton McGregor made the announcement Monday.

He accused Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange and the Alabama Supreme Court of scheming to keep Victoryland closed.
McGregor insists that the machines are legal according the constitutional amendment approved by voters in 2003.

He says despite the Alabama Supreme Court ruling, he plans to open the casino back up in early summer.
Macon County residents we talked to say it is a sign of hope for them and the economy.
“It brings a lot of work to the community. A lot of folks been out of work and it will be good for the young people and old people that have been sitting out, that were put out of work years ago,” said Sidney Ligon.
Political Analyst Steve Flowers tells us he believes this is the end to the legal battle as it is now in the hands of local law enforcement.

“The governor said the enforcement is open to our local people. Luther Strange has no grounds to even try to enforce it because it’s been taken away from his office,” said Flowers.
