Impeachment Sponsor Appointed
Sponsoring legislation to begin impeachment proceedings against Republican Governor Robert Bentley has apparently not affected a Republican state representative’s relationship with the Alabama Republican Party.
Representative Ed Henry has been appointed to a committee leadership position. The Party announced the position on Thursday:
“Committee on Rules and Order of Business:
AL Representative Ed Henry (HD-9) and Laura Payne
The Convention Rules Committee will draft the rules for the 2016 Republican National Convention which must be adopted by a majority vote of the full convention body.”
Senator Jeff Sessions was named Chair of the GOP Alabama Convention Delegation.
The 2016 GOP Convention will be held in Cleveland on July 18-21.
