A Selma man is sentenced to life without parole after being convicted of capital murder by a Dallas County jury.

Twenty-three year old Deandre Fuller will spend the rest of his life behind bars after a jury handed down a guilty verdict in his capital murder trial Wednesday night.

“It’s not fair. They out here giving my cousin capital murder so something he did not do,” said Regina Minniefield. “I know Deandre, I been knowing Deandre all his life and if he say he didn’t do something, he didn’t do it. They did him wrong, they did him wrong. But guess what? God ain’t sleep, He ain’t sleep.”

Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson says Fuller shot and killed Antonio Boykin on King Street back in 2013 — while he was out on bond for another murder.

“The guy had a pending murder charge. He was out on bond and he killed somebody else and so we’re very pleased with the verdict,” said Jackson.

Jackson said Fuller is set to go on trial for the other murder and an assault in June.
