Overnight Greenville Shooting Leaves One Shot, One Arrested

Officers responded to 864 North Conecuh st. where they found a male and female subject outside who stated that someone attempted to break into their residence. Officers noticed where it appeared that their front door had been kicked open.
Officers searched the immediate area but where unable to locate a suspect. A short time later officers received a call from Stablers Hospital Emergency room stating that they had a gunshot victim in the E.R.
Officers responded to the Emergency Room and found Travis Rudolph, a 24 year old black male from Greenville, suffering from a gunshot wound to his abdomen. Mr. Rudolph stated that he had been shot while he was over on North Conecuh St. a few minutes earlier.
Investigators were called out to North Conecuh St. and Stablers Hospital. Investigators interviewed the occupant of the residence on North Conecuh st., Quinton Tolliver, a 41 year old black male. He stated that an unknown subject forced their way into his residence on North Conecuh St. Mr. Tolliver stated he was in his bedroom and began to yell out to see who was in his house.
According to Mr. Tolliver, the unkown subject then ran away. Investigators then processed the residence on North Conecuh st. for evidence and found what appeared to be a bullet hole in the bedroom door. Investigators also found other evidence in the residence to suggest that a firearm had been kept inside that residence. Investigators questioned Mr. Tolliver once again about being in possession of a firearm or discharging a firearm. He continued to deny having or shooting a firearm. Investigators also found other evidence to show that Mr. Tolliver was not being truthful in his statement.
Investigators searched the area around the residence and found a pistol and rifle which appeared to have been recently placed in the woodline near the residence. The pistol was registered as stolen with the Wetumpka Police Department. Mr. Tolliver was interviewed again and confronted with the evidence that we had collected to that point. He then confessed to possessing the pistol and shooting once through his bedroom door, as well as, firing several rounds outside of his residence as he was chasing the subject.
Due to the inconsistent statements and conflicting accounts of what occurred within the residence, Mr. Tolliver was arrested for Attempted Murder. Mr. Tolliver was also charged with Certain Persons forbidden to possess a Firearm (due to his prior conviction of a felony), and Receiving of Stolen Property 4th degree.
The investigation is ongoing and will continue to develop the facts of what actually occurred to insure the proper charges are pursued.
The gunshot victim, Mr. Rudolph, was airlifted to Baptist South in Montgomery. He is listed in stable but guarded condition. Additional arrest in this case are likely as the investigation continues.
