Escaped Alabama Inmate Captured On The West Coast
An escaped Alabama inmate convicted in Elmore County was captured Saturday on the other side of the country.
24-year-old Dylan Carroll originally escaped from a work release program in Deatsville on September 22nd.
He was caught in Port Angeles, Washington around 1:45 Saturday afternoon.
The Department of Corrections worked with US Marshals to capture Carroll.
A tip from the public helped identify the inmate.
He was caught driving a vehicle with a stolen Texas license plate.
Carroll was serving a 13 year sentence for second degree arson.
He was convicted of burning down the historic Hotel Talisi in 2010.
He’s awaiting extradition back to Alabama for additional charges.
