Gov. Robert Bentley Pulls Support From Donald Trump
Since a recording of Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump making lewd comments about women in 2005 surfaced this week, many party members are withdrawing their support.
Governor Robert Bentley released a statement Saturday saying, “I endorsed governor john Kasich for president, because I felt like he was the most qualified and the best person to lead our country. I certainly won’t vote for Hillary Clinton, but I cannot and will not vote for Donald Trump.”
U.S. Representative Martha Roby released a statement Saturday about Trump’s video saying in part, “Now, it is abundantly clear that the best thing for our country and our party is for Trump to step aside and allow a responsible, respectable Republican to lead the ticket. Hillary Clinton must not be president, but, with Trump leading the ticket, she will be.”
