Montgomery Businesses Participate in Small Business Saturday
People across the country were encouraged to shop small for Small Business Saturday.
Several shops in Montgomery participated in the annual day that highlights small businesses. Many took to social media with the hashtag #shopsmall or #smallbuisnesssaturday promoting the event. It’s estimated that 17.8 billion dollars will be spent for this year’s Small Business Saturday.
“People feel like they are supporting their neighbors and their community and obviously if they are spending money here versus department stores we’re able to put that money back in the community,” says Shelby Morgan of You & Me Boutique.
Last year, millions of people shopped on Small Business Saturday.
