“We have to finish and be detailed and focused at all times,” Jenkins said. “Anybody that watched the game knew that we were in it from the start. We didn’t come out to just play the game we came out to win it and we just didn’t get it done down the stretch.”
“With about nine minutes left focus and detail just left our style of play and because of that we didn’t finish the ball game. So we need to focus on focus and detail and that falls on me. I can’t put that on the players or other coaches I got to make sure our guys stay focused and that we are playing with detail all the time.”
With the Hornets having a short week of work, the Hornets are trying to get a lot of preparation work done in a short amount of time, but Jenkins is not worried about the short week.
“It doesn’t matter at all,” Jenkins said. “We have some restrictions in place that we’re honoring so we would not have practiced on Monday anyway. So it is nothing and it helps us fall into our normal routine and keep going.”
The Hornets will have a few more practice sessions to prepare for Alcorn State who will invade ASU Stadium Saturday. The game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
