Fall Allergies On The Rise

The temperatures are dropping, but with the fall season comes allergies.

More than 50 million Americans suffer from allergies.

Doctors say this time of year the runny noses, coughing and sneezing will usually last until late November. The first freeze marks the end of the fall allergy season.

Doctors in Troy say they are seeing a lot of people coming in complaining about allergies and they’ve already seen flu cases.

Dr. Stacey Jones, Assistant Professor Troy University said, “If any of those symptoms change, if any of the drainage because green or yellow then usually you are getting a sinus infection or some type of upper respiratory infection.”

How do you know if you don’t just have a cold? A common cold goes away in 7 to 10 days, allergy season lasts about two months.
