Entrepreneurs Pitch Ideas In First Ignite MGM Competition

One group is helping local entrepreneurs get their start up projects off the ground.

Ignite MGM held its first Pitch Competition at The Sanctuary in Montgomery.

The competition brought together contestants and their ideas that better the community of Montgomery.

There were 9 finalists in 3 different categories: Art, Food and Social Media.

Each presenter had 2 minutes to pitch their idea.

The winners from each category will receive a combined total of $12,000 to fund their projects.

Officials say the competition is meant to inspire pride in your hometown.

“The importance of the this competition is togetherness. It’s connecting people to people and people to resources so that when you’re here you get inspired by somebody else idea,” said Clay McInnis with the Downtown Business Association.

“Montgomery is developing and it’s transforming and that is what inspired my project is that whole transformation. But I also believe in arts can bring people together especially to downtown Montgomery,” said Chintia Kirana.
