Tiger Fans Disappointed After Tough Road Loss

It was a big weekend of football in the state and the Auburn Tigers suffered a tough loss to the Georgia Bulldogs Saturday.

They’re essentially out of the playoff picture, and that has many wondering what happened to the team after such a promising start.

It was a pretty gloomy day on the plains, both with the weather and the mood.

But many tiger fans are hoping for a strong finish this season

Both teams came in to Saturday’s contest with something to prove. Auburn fresh off a loss to Texas A&M, Georgia trying to forget a brutal loss to the Florida gators two weeks earlier.

Auburn scored on their fist possession, but that would be it for the night.

“Auburn is making too many mistakes, way too many penalties. And those things can certainly hurt you  not only at home, but on the road. And that was certainly the case against Saturday, against Georgia,” said sports analyst John Longshore.

For many in the Auburn family, the loss is still fresh.

“It was upsetting, it was a hard game to watch,” said Katie Carlson.

“It was disappointing, but we still have a few more games to go,” said Gary Kelly.

And one of those games is a tough matchup against number two Alabama.

“I think Auburn is out of the playoff talk. Three losses and the way they got beat by a Texas A&M team that was a huge underdog and how bad they were beaten last Saturday I think they’re out. But the Iron Bowl is huge. That could certainly ease a lot of the pain,” said Longshore.

But before the tigers can take on the crimson tide, students say there’s one thing that needs a lot of work.

“I guess a stronger defense would be a lot better and we could hold the other team back and we can get turnovers because of that,” said Kelly.

“I love the tigers through and through, so i’m hoping we can pull it together for the next game and work on the defense. The defense is lacking a little bit,” said Carlson.
