Wetumpka City Council Hires New Police Chief

 Wetumpka has hired a new police chief.

The Montgomery Advertiser reports  that the Wetumpka City Council chose Danny Billingsley for the position in a 3-2 vote Monday.

City Council President Greg Jones said Billingsley, a Wetumpka native, will be moving into the position from the state attorney general’s office. His start date is effective immediately.
