Troy Makes ‘Best for Vets’ List

The Veterans Day holiday has come and gone, but one university is continuing its effort to make sure military families are not forgotten.
Â
Troy University is being recognized for work to honor our military. Once again the university made Gannett Company’s Military Times “best for vets” list.Â
Â
Falling in line with this recognition, the university recently opened up it’s Troy for Troops Center.Â
It’s a place to hang out, study, meet with counselors to help with veterans benefits and more.Â
Â
Phillip Johnson, Cadet Army ROTC said, “I come in here I’ve got members of the Navy, Air Force, the National Guard, the Army a couple Marines and we are all here everyday for the most part. And we mingle and we have that sense of camaraderie.”
Â
This center’s not just for those who served, but any military affiliated students and their dependents. There’s a Troy for Troops center on the Troy and Montgomery campuses. University leaders are working on ones in Dothan and Phenix City.
