Low Gas Prices Impact on Holiday Shopping and Travel

 You may have noticed gas prices continue to drop.
    And experts say that’s good news for both your wallet and retailers this holiday season.
Prices in Montgomery are around the 2.60 mark for a gallon of regular gas.
With consumer confidence up, economist Jeff Bates says this holiday shopping season should be one of best we’ve seen in the past few years.
 “Every time gasoline drops by a penny, you are looking at 1.3 billion dollars of additional income for the consumer, and that adds up very quickly. So retailers should be in a good position this year as far as over all sales,” said Economist Jeff Bates.
 According to MontgomeryGasPrices.com, the cheapest gas can be found at Costco for $2.49 per gallon of regular.
