Money, Response Time Are Factors In Pike. Co Ambulance Decision

This video is no longer available.

A new ambulance company will soon be dispatched out in all of Pike County.

Care Ambulance has covered the county since 2005, but the city of Troy and Pike County selected Haynes for the next three-year contract.

Why should you care? Haynes will cost the county more than $350,000 dollars less than Care per year.
Also per mile for you or your insurance, Haynes is more than three dollars cheaper.

Haynes just moved into a new facility in Troy and it says it’s ready to hit the ground running.

Ron Warner, Operations Manager Haynes Ambulance Montgomery said, “We are taking on a little bit of a growth spurt we added our helicopter this year which also serves Pike Co. And we are excited to be serving the citizens.”

We reached out to Care Ambulance to hear how this will impact its presence in Troy, but have not yet heard back from the company.

We did learn today that Care shut down its Dothan office citing that the city was not big enough for more than one ambulance service.
