Athletes From Pike County Sign Letters of Intent on National Signing Day

It’s a big day in the sports world and in Pike County where four athletes sign their letters of intent.

At Pike County High School, Isaac Nickson and Stevie Smiley both signed with Alabama State University.

Over at Charles Henderson High School, Christian London signed with Hutchinson Community College. And Richard McBryde signed with Auburn, a decision that his Charles Henderson coach joked had the coaching staff sweating towards the end.

The change up in the coaching staff had him looking at LSU and Florida, until Will Muschamp was hired on as defensive coordinator.

Richard McBryde said, “Coach Muschamp he’s a great coach. He’s just intense and I need a coach like that. To stay on my tail and work harder. I’m feeling great honored to be here and celebrate this moment and stuff like that.”

This season McBryde made 147 tackles and seven sacks.
