8th Anniversary of Prattville Tornado

Eight years ago an EF-3 tornado ripped through Prattville, leaving a lot of damage in its wake.

It happened February 17, 2008. Businesses and neighborhoods along Cobbs Ford Road were hit the hardest by 150 mile per hour winds. Twenty-nine people were taken to the hospital with injuries. Right-to-Work Amendment Approved in Alabama House

The Alabama House of Representatives has approved legislation reiterating Alabama’s stance as a so-called “right-to-work” state. Representatives approved the proposed constitutional amendment Wednesday on a 69-33 vote. The bill now moves to the Alabama Senate. Suspect in Custody After Carmichael Road Shooting

Police have 32-year old Michael Morris in custody after a shooting Wednesday afternoon in Montgomery. Montgomery police say officers responded to the 5200 block of Carmichael Road, at the La Quinta Inn, on a call of a subject shot. The victims injuries are considered non-life-threatening. Bentley Places Law Enforcement Secretary on Medical Leave

Gov. Robert Bentley is placing the head of Alabama’s state law enforcement agency on medical leave. Bentley announced the decision about Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Secretary Spencer Collier on Wednesday.
