The Alabama House of Representatives has approved legislation reiterating Alabama’s stance as a so-called “right-to-work” state. Representatives approved the proposed constitutional amendment Wednesday on a 69-33 vote. The bill now moves to the Alabama Senate. Police have 32-year old Michael Morris in custody after a shooting Wednesday afternoon in Montgomery. Montgomery police say officers responded to the 5200 block of Carmichael Road, at the La Quinta Inn, on a call of a subject shot. The victims injuries are considered non-life-threatening. Gov. Robert Bentley is placing the head of Alabama’s state law enforcement agency on medical leave. Bentley announced the decision about Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Secretary Spencer Collier on Wednesday.
