Consumer Technology Reporter Jamey Tucker started providing his daily “What the Tech” stories to Action 8 News in 2019. He can be seen on Action 8 News Rising as well as Action 8 News at 5:00 and 5:30PM.

Jamey previously worked as a reporter for WKRN in Nashville, Tennessee. He was also an anchor and reporter for WREG in Memphis, Tennessee, and WHNT in Huntsville.

Jamey has been honored by the Associated Press in Alabama as Best Reporter and Best Feature reporter for his work as a religion reporter. His love for technology reporting grew while working in Nashville. Jamey now focuses entirely on technology reporting and enjoys finding new apps and gadgets to make life easier, safer and a little more fun.

Jamey and his wife have three children and are the proud owners of a hairless cat.

Mayor Steven Reed’s Free Playball Sandlot Event Rescheduled for July 24

A free event scheduled for July 24 aims to expand the games of baseball and softball in Montgomery while strengthening affinity with those already involved in local leagues.  Mayor Steven L. Reed is partnering with the United States Conference of Mayors (USCM), the Montgomery Biscuits, Major League Baseball (MLB) and RBI to host a free Sandlot event for Montgomery youth on Saturday, July 24, from 9 a.m. to noon at Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery.

Supreme Court Rules in Favor of Student-Athletes in NCAA Compensation Case

The Supreme Court has decided unanimously that the NCAA cannot enforce rules limiting education-related benefits that colleges offer to student athletes - things like computers and paid internships. Monday's ruling will help determine whether schools decide to offer athletes tens of thousands of dollars in those benefits for things including tutoring, study abroad programs and graduate scholarships.
