Wolfsburg says forward Josip Brekalo has tested positive for the coronavirus and is in isolation.

The club says the Croatian “is feeling good and is currently without symptoms.” The club also says the rest of the squad and coaching staff tested negative.

The isolation period will likely keep Brekalo out of Saturday’s game against Arminia Bielefeld.

Brekalo has scored once in four Bundesliga games this season for 13th-place Wolfsburg. He last played in Wolfsburg’s 1-1 draw with Borussia Mönchengladbach on

Colombian cyclist Fernando Gaviria has tested positive for the coronavirus and has been withdrawn from the Giro d’Italia.

Gaviria and a staff member for Team AG2R La Mondiale were the only positives out of 492 tests carried out Sunday and Monday.

Gaviria’s UAE Team Emirates says the rider “was immediately isolated following the test result and is feeling well and is completely asymptomatic.”

The team notes that Gaviria also had COVID-19 in March.

Top-seeded Fabio Fognini has withdrawn from the Sardinia Open after testing positive for coronavirus.

Fognini was scheduled to play Roberto Carballes Baena in the second round of the clay court tournament. The Italian had been given a bye but played a doubles match on Tuesday with Lorenzo Musetti.

The Italian tennis federation says all the people Fognini came into direct contact with have been placed in isolation and have undergone new tests.

Lucky loser Danilo Petrović will replace Fognini.
