Alabama State & Tuskegee Renew Football Rivalry
Alabama State University and Tuskegee University have renewed their football rivalry in a four-year contract announced Wednesday by both universities. The Hornets and Tigers will face each other on Sept. 2, 2017, in the season opener for both teams. The teams last played in the opening of ASU Stadium before a sellout crowd on Nov. 22, 2012, in the 89th Turkey Day Classic.
Osi Umenyiora Retires From the NFL
Former Troy Trojan Osi Umenyiora walked away from the game officially Wednesday, but not without one last offer from an NFL team. Umenyiora, 33, did not name the club, but said he turned it down because it wasn't an offer from the Giants -- the only team he wanted to close his career with.

ASU Hornets Will Face South Alabama in 2017
Alabama State football will face South Alabama for the first time in 2018, the schools announced today. The Hornets and Jaguars will play Saturday, Oct. 13 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium, with the kickoff time to be determined. It will be Alabama State's first football game in Mobile since 2009.
