The Montgomery City Council is taking up possible rezoning of property in the Montgomery city limits that could bring a new shopping center to the corner of Ray Thorington Road and Pike Road.
The Montgomery YMCA says the upgrades gives them the opportunity to reach more kids and families in the community.
Police and fire medics were called around 8:00 p.m. to the 2700 block of Taylor Road Tuesday.
The fire happened just after 5:00 p.m. in the 8000 block of Faith Lane.
Officers responded around 1:30 p.m. to the 2500 block of Berryhill Road.

Officers determined that the shooting happened in the 1100 block of New Park Drive.
Crew members are having to work double time to cleanup and fix all the damages across the city.
Parts of East Montgomery and Pike Road are currently without power. Alabama Power said at its height, 7700 customers in those areas experienced power outages. Alabama Power spokesperson Mike Jordan said the reason for the outage is a result of a lightning strike.
