EUFAULA, AL — Auburn’s annual Tiger Trek began in Eufaula tonight where coach Gus Malzahn met with fans.
Malzahn faced questions about defensive end Elijah Daniel. He and two others were arrested for theft. Since then, Malzahn dismissed Daniel from the team.
“Well in his case, it’s very unfortunate,” said Malzahn. “But overall, we’ve got a lot of great kids. They are trying to do what we have them do on and off the field. We’ve got some guys we feel very good about. We’ll have to ask some young guys to play, not just at that position, but at some other positions too. We had a very good recruiting class, and expect a lot of those guys to contribute right away on the field.”
