Parents React to Pike Road Announcement For New School Location
We are getting reaction to the Pike Road school board decision to move forward in building a new high school.
The Pike Road school board has announced it is ready to purchase the land where board members hope to build a new high school. The announcement took place at a school board meeting Monday night that Alabama News Network attended.
The 100-acre property is near the intersection of Vaughn Road and Wallahatchie Road, near Woodland United Methodist Church.
Parents and other members of the community are excited about the expansion of schools in Pike Road.
Pike Road residents approved a tax hike for schools in October. The school system will start receiving money from that tax increase in October 2023.
