One on one with Fort Deposit Mayor Madelene Means

Voters in Fort Deposit elected a new mayor back in January.

We caught up with Mayor Madelene Means to talk with her about her first 100 days in office.

Means says she’s spent the first 135 days on the job working through her pre-election check list.

She says she’s also been working to improve city government — and send a message to industry that Fort Deposit is open for business.

“Fort Deposit is ready for the opportunity. We are the new pearl of I-65 positioning Fort Deposit for opportunity and expansion and growth,” Means said.

Means defeated former Mayor Jacqulyn Boone in the second of two municipal elections.

A judge over-turned the first election — due to voter fraud.
