Scattered weekend storms, mid-90° heat Saturday into next week
After a cooler start to this week due to clouds and rain, mid-July heat was back Friday afternoon. High temperatures were in the low to mid 90s, but peak heat index values were over 100° in some locations. Isolated to widely scattered showers and storms formed Friday afternoon, and some may linger into the evening. The sky becomes partly cloudy to mostly clear Friday night with lows in the low to mid 70s.
Mid-90° heat continues this weekend, with peak heat indices over 100° Saturday and Sunday. However, showers and storms become scattered about each afternoon, providing heat relief to at least some of our area. Rain fades away each night, with a partially clearing sky and lows in the low to mid 70s. Rain coverage remains widely scattered Monday, then isolated Tuesday and beyond.
High temperatures remain in the mid 90s through Wednesday. Despite lower rain chances, high temperatures fall into the low 90s late next week into next weekend.
