Trenholm State Community College cuts ribbon on partnership with Ford Motor Company
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) –Â Trenholm State Community College is celebrating the launch of its Ford Technician Ready Accelerated Credential (TRAC) Program with a ribbon-cutting ceremony recognizing its partnership with Ford Motor Company and Stivers Ford of Montgomery.
The program addresses the growing national shortage of certified automotive technicians by providing an accelerated credential pathway that combines Ford’s industry-leading curriculum with hands-on, lab-intensive training and direct employment opportunities through Ford-affiliated dealerships while preparing students for high-demand careers and supporting workforce and economic development throughout Central Alabama.
“This is the first program that is going to allow technicians, future technicians, to get a technical education, start their career development in a field that will drive $100,000+ income with no student debt and no tool debt, and as I said before, we’ve got a 70,000 person deficit right now in this field, Stivers Ford President Eddie Stivers told Action 8 News.
“We answered the call, so we want to make sure we are workforce ready for our business and industry partners and whatever their needs, we will provide that training for them, Trenholm State Community College President Kemba Chambers said.
The TRAC program is designed to strengthen the connection between education and industry.
