Our Golden Apple award this week takes us to J.E. Terry Elementary School in Dallas County.
Dorothy Owens has taught kindergarten there for nearly 40 years. She says she has a passion for teaching very young children. She is the first teacher for many of the children, and after so many decades in the classroom, she’s now impacting a new generation of students.
“They make me more active, make me want to exercise and stay in shape so I’ll be able to keep up with them,” said Owens.
You can nominate your teacher for the Golden Apple Award by sending in the form on the Alabama News Network website.
