MONTGOMERY, AL — More than one hundred football players flooded into Alabama State’s football stadium for the first-ever football camp under new head coach Brian Jenkins.
Jenkins focused on drills and skills Friday and will host a seven-on-seven camp Saturday. He was excited to see schools from the Montgomery area, along with schools from Florida, Georgia, and Ohio come out.
“Tell you what is tremendous is to see young people come out from all over,” said Jenkins. “To find a way to forget their boundaries or limitations, and just get along. It gives a chance for the players to meet our coaching staff, understand our coaching style, and also gave us a chance to deliver a positive message to the youth.”
Jenkins was hired at Alabama State back in December, leaving Bethune-Cookman.
