Three Montgomery women facing charges in a string of thefts in Opelika
Three Montgomery women are charged with thefts from stores at Tiger Town in Opelika.
Opelika police say on Friday, November 17, they started investigating a theft at Ulta. Investigators say surveillance video shows the suspects take cosmetic items before leaving the store.
On Monday, November 20, officers say they responded to Dick’s Sporting Goods to investigate a shoplifting complaint. The manager provided a vehicle description, and while searching for the car, officers were made aware of a shoplifting in progress at Best Buy.
While officers were responding to Best Buy, additional officers were able to find the suspect vehicle and tried to stop it. Police say the driver tried to flee and after a short pursuit, the suspects were taken into custody.
The suspects, 28-year-old Chelsie Ann High, 31-year-old Tandreka Rache Pettus and 27- year-old Dominique Shaqur McGhee, all from Montgomery, were charged with organized retail theft. Police say High was also charged with felony attempting to elude.
Police say the three women have also been identified as the suspects in the Ulta theft. They say additional charges are pending.
