Selma High grad gives back and aims to inspire students
From the West Alabama Newsroom–
A former Selma High student is giving back to the school — and trying to motivate the next generation of entrepreneurs.
Alkaline Lyfe CEO Malcolm Crittenden donated a pallet of bottled natural spring alkaline water to the school this afternoon.
The 2005 Selma High graduate founded the Atlanta-based company in 2017.
Crittenden says the goal of the donation — is to promote a healthy lifestyle — as well as to inspire students to work hard — and dream big.
“Reach for the dreams. Dream big,” said Crittenden.
“If you’re dreams don’t scare you then you’re not dreaming big enough.”
“Seeing someone coming out of Selma being something they want to do, achieving their goals from Selma High, it’s something you can do if you put your mind to it, your heart to it, like, you can achieve it,” Selma High student Kristian Moore.
“That’s always wonderful for them to see different people able to succeed in life by doing different things that they’re not used to seeing, especially when they came through these halls at Selma High School,” said SHS Assistant Principal Theodis Jones, Jr.
Alkaline water has a higher pH level than tap water — and may be one of the healthiest kinds of water to consume.
