Wilcox Co. authorities search for a wanted shootout suspect

Wilcox Co. authorities need your help to find a suspect in a recent shootout — whose wanted for attempted murder.
Gone are the days when violent crimes only happened in big cities. Nowadays it can happen anywhere — even in small rural communities — like Camden.
Once upon a time — gun violence and shootouts — were a big city problem. And that was one of the main reasons — why many people preferred — life in the country.
But that time — seems to be quickly fading away — with more and more instances of gun violence — occurring in rural communities.
“Everything that goes in the city, it goes on in the country now,” said L.J. Wiggins.
Wiggins was at home asleep with his wife — when the sound of gunfire from a shootout — woke them up.
“I thought it was thundering and lightning. But the weather wasn’t bad,” he said.
Wiggins says he found nine bullet holes in his house from the shooting.
“We got bullet holes everywhere,” said Kattie Wiggins.
The Wilcox County Sheriff’s Office arrested twin brothers Ian Cole and Isiah Cole in the case. They’re also actively searching for Sergio Castophney — along with several other persons of interest.
Castophney is wanted for attempted murder and is considered to be armed and dangerous.
“I received a call about several, lots of shots being fired,” said Sheriff Larry Colston.
“Shortly after that we received a call from the hospital we had several people come in shot in critical condition.”
The shootout left a vehicle riddled with bullet holes.
Wiggins says he found nine bullet holes in his house after the shooting.
“Mostly, older people live in this neighborhood and I was wondering how they can do all this bad stuff and they know old peoples are in this area,” said L.J. Wiggins.
“I just don’t know what’s wrong with our young men now,” said Kattie Wiggins.
“I pray for them though, I really do.”
