Hundreds enjoy Turkey Day Classic Parade before game between ASU and Tuskegee
Hundreds of people lined both sides a Dexter Avenue in downtown Montgomery on Thanksgiving morning, cheering to celebrate the 100th Turkey Day Classic between the ASU Hornets and the Tuskegee Golden Tigers.
Civil rights icon Fred Gray, who was the Grand Marshal for the parade, rode on one of the float with his wife.
More than 160 campus organizations, businesses and churches traditionally participate in the annual Turkey Day Parade.
For some paradegoers, attending the parade is a tradition they would never miss.
“I was here in the 1970s marching and I just love to see all of the progress Montgomery has made, and it’s just fantastic here . I had to come back home you know,” paradegoer Richard Clement told Action 8 News.
“I think all these people coming out right here is just love. It’s just family. It’s just a wonderful feeling,” paradegoer Latoya Duff said.
ASU beat Tuskegee in the game, 34-6.
