2025 Bridge Crossing Jubilee: Schedule for March 3-9

23bridgecrossingjubilee

Here are the events scheduled for the Bridge Crossing Jubilee in Selma, which commemorate the voting rights marches of 1965.

This year’s Bridge Crossing Jubilee runs from Monday, March 3, through Sunday, March 9, in Selma. That will be followed by a march from Selma to Montgomery that will run from Monday, March 10, through Friday, March 14.

This is the 60th anniversary of Bloody Sunday, March 7, 1965, when marchers were beaten and severely injured just across the Edmund Pettus Bridge as they tried to walk from Selma to Montgomery in support of voting rights. Later that month, marchers made a successful march and their efforts helped lead to the passage of the Voting Rights Act.
