CAMPAIGN 2026: Blount County DA to run for Alabama Attorney General
The current longtime Blount County District Attorney is throwing her hat in the ring for the state’s top cop position.
According to the Alabama Secretary of State’s website, Pamela Casey has filed to run as a Republican for the Attorney General position next year.
Casey was first elected as the district attorney of Blount County in 2010 as the age of 29, making her the youngest female district attorney in the state.
Prior to working in Blount County, Casey worked as an assistant attorney general and deputy attorney general for the Alabama Attorney General’s Office.
If elected, she would be the first woman in the state’s history to hold the position.
The Alabama Republican Primary is scheduled for May 19, 2026.
