Hot and humid but with better rain chances for the rest of the week
After a very hot and mainly dry start to the week, rain chances look a bit better through at least Friday. Showers and storms remain isolated to widely scattered Wednesday afternoon, with the highest rain chance south and east. Despite some rain, high temperatures still range from the low to mid 90s. Meanwhile, heat indices may approach 105°. A heat advisory continues until Wednesday evening for Marengo and Perry counties.
Wednesday evening/night becomes mainly dry with a partly cloudy sky and lows in the low to mid 70s. Showers and storms become scattered by Thursday afternoon, thanks to an area of low pressure skirting the north Gulf coastline. The low, designated 93L, still has a chance to become a weak tropical cyclone before moving onshore near the Louisiana/Mississippi coast late Thursday. Tropical or not, the greatest impact to our area remains better rain chances.
Friday features scattered to numerous showers and storms, mainly during the afternoon, with high temperatures in the low 90s. Rain coverage looks scattered Saturday, and widely scattered Sunday, with high temperatures in the low 90s both days. Showers and storms remain isolated to widely scattered early next week, but rain chances look better again for the latter half of the week. Meanwhile, high temperatures may be back in the mid 90s Tuesday and beyond.
