Farmers from across Alabama were in the capital city Monday night for the 94th annual meeting of the Alabama Farmers Federation.

The two day event brought in more than 12 hundred farmers and some big names, including former President Ronald Reagan’s son, Michael Reagan.
Reagan is a longtime political commentator, radio host and author.
He talked about his father’s presidency and the 2016 presidential race.

“If we want to win, we got to find a candidate that is likable and relatable. If they are not likable and relatable then what happens? We don’t show up to vote. We have to stop looking for reasons not to vote for our own and find reasons to,” said Reagan.

Awards were also given out at the meeting. Lieutenant Governor Kay Ivey received the Federation’s Service to Agriculture Award, the organization’s highest honor.
