Troy police have arrested two men on charges involving gunfire.

In the first case, police say 20-year-old Jaylin Collins of Troy was charged with firing a gun into an occupied vehicle. Two 17-year-olds have also been arrested on the same charge.

Police say at about 12:30AM on July 26, they were called to a shooting in the 100 block of Williams Street, which is near South Three Notch Street downtown.

On August 19, police say they tried to stop a vehicle that Collins was in so that they could serve him with outstanding warrants. They say Collins ran away while carrying a bag, but fell into a hole. Police say the bag had a handgun inside.

Collins is being held in the Pike County Jail without bond, pending a hearing due to additional bench warrants for violating a bond from a previous charge.

In the second case, police say they arrested 27-year-old Tamija Ivory of Luverne on a charge of firing a gun into a building.

On August 13, police say they got a call of shots fired in the 100 block of Carver Drive, which is off Hubbard Street in the northern part of the city. During the investigation, officers determined that a home in the 200 block of Hubbard Street had been struck by gunfire.

On August 20, Troy police detectives, with help from the Luverne Police Department, arrested Ivory in Luverne. He is being held in the Pike County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
