Some showers, storms Sunday; Drier for the start of fall next week
Saturday was a September sizzler across central and south Alabama. High temperatures were in the mid 90s in most locations. The sky was partly to mostly sunny, with only a handful of showers and storms in the mix during the afternoon. Our area quickly became rain-free during the evening. Saturday night looks partly cloudy to mostly clear with lows in the mid to upper 60s.
Summer 2025 officially ends Sunday, with the autumnal equinox quickly approaching on Monday. Sunday certainly looks like a classic summer day, with high temperatures in the low 90s, and isolated to widely scattered showers and storms during the afternoon. Rain fades away Sunday evening, then the sky becomes mostly clear Sunday night with lows in the mid to upper 60s.
Our weather trends drier again for the first few days of next week. Temperatures warm into the low 90s with a partly to mostly sunny sky Monday through Wednesday. Thursday features a better chance for rain, thanks to another cold front approaching Alabama. It looks like the front pushes through and southeast of our area Friday. Our weather looks drier, but only slightly cooler in the wake of the front next weekend.
